Accessibility statement

Our commitment to accessibility.

What we target

We build and maintain truenorthstrategyops.com to substantially conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the W3C. We say substantially because the work is ongoing — we re-scan the site monthly, fix what we find, and update this page when we find new issues.

Why this matters legally

In April 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice issued a Final Rule on Web and Mobile Accessibility under Title II of the ADA. It applies directly to state and local governments and signals the regulatory direction for private commercial sites. We treat WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the operating standard regardless of whether a specific business is currently named in the rule.

Known limitations

We are honest about where the site is not perfect. As of the last review date above:

  • Third-party embeds (when added — scheduling, forms, payments) are partially under our control. We choose vendors with documented WCAG 2.2 AA conformance and remove vendors that fail.
  • PDFs are not currently served from this site. If we add any in the future, they will be tagged accessible per PDF/UA before publishing.
  • We have not yet completed full automated and manual testing on every page in every browser. Our scope is currently the published navigation and primary content.

Report an accessibility issue

If you hit a barrier on this site — anywhere, on any device, with any assistive technology — tell us. We respond within 5 business days.

How we test

Our accessibility work is a documented practice, not a checkbox.

  • axe DevTools automated scans on every page before deploy
  • Manual keyboard navigation walk-through (tab order, focus visibility, no traps)
  • Manual screen reader testing with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS
  • WebAIM Contrast Checker on every approved color pairing in our design tokens
  • Monthly re-scan of the entire site using the same accessibility audit prompt we run against client sites
  • No accessibility overlay widgets — ever. Overlays are not accessibility; they are a workaround that often makes things worse.
